Quick Trips to take this Independence Day Weekend!

Feeling cooped up? Celebrate Independence Day weekend with a fun and safe trip with the family! While vehicular access to beaches and some parks are closed, there are still a few spots you can visit with your family for a little change of pace.

IMPORTANT REMINDER FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION:

Everyone has the responsibility to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, including in the outdoors. The public is reminded to avoid road trips and stay close to home, maintain physical distancing, wear a face covering when a physical distance of six feet from others who are not from the immediate household members cannot be maintained, and avoid congregating. This means no gatherings, picnics or parties. Visitors are being asked to leave if there are too many people to allow for the required physical distance. As a reminder, the use of fireworks is not permitted in the State Park System (year-round).

Go for a Patio Wine-tasting

Enjoy social distancing in style at McEvoy Ranch. Dine in their beautiful patio with their Taste of the Season box containing seasonal local cheese, fruits, charcuterie, and culinary items. The set also includes your choice of a flight of our signature wines, including their reserve flight, plus get to take your McEvoy wine glass home after your experience as a special gift! Contact the ranch to reserve up to 6 persons per party.

Drop by the Beach

Chicken Ranch Beach is located on Tomales Bay just outside Inverness. This hidden jewel sits on the shallow, relatively warm waters of Tomales Bay and is perfect for families with little ones since it has a gentle sandy beach with no surf. Bring a packed lunch, spread your blanket, and maybe light up some sparklers in honor of the holiday.

Visit Angel Island

With the Tiburon Ferry back up and running beginning July 2nd, you can grab the chance to get away this weekend and visit beautiful Angel Island. While all buildings are still closed, the trails and boat docks as well as the restrooms by the docks will be open and available. Work  up a sweat and visit the United States Immigration Station, or take the Perimeter Trail and get breathtaking views of the entire San Francisco Bay.

Grab a Bite

Some restaurants in Marin County have already begun to open their establishments for outdoor dining with limited seating. Enjoy a change of pace from homecooking or takeouts and drop by some of these places. Some facilities include Pacific Catch in Corte Madera, Hog Island Oyster Company in Larkspur, and Marin Brewing Company in Larkspur. Take a look at a list of establishments here.
