The evening of American roots music will feature musical members of the Hellman family along with a host of special guest musicians, a deliciously prepared buffet from the Sweetwater café and lots of merriment. The Hellman Winter Stomp players consist of three generations of siblings, offspring and grandchildren of Warren Hellman (the late financier that founded the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass music festival). Don’t miss the premier season of the Kanbar Center’s Live On Stage with Michael Krasny as he welcomes local musician Danny Click. Danny was born in Indiana before moving to Austin Texas, where his music career took off. A well-respected musician’s musican, things changed in 2011 when his first single “Wait My Turn” reached #1 on Nashville’s Indie World Country Chart. In Marin, Danny has built a large and passionate fan base that includes musical greats Carlos Santana and Elvin Bishop, both of whom have joined him on stage for impromptu jams. Danny is an incredible songwriter with a sound that has been called “a refreshing return to smart, sassy blues-inflected country rock” and guitar playing reminiscent of Stevie Ray and David Lindley. You will get to hear more of Danny’s story this weekend, followed by an acoustic performance of some of his less performed songs.
